Why not help yourself?
“What you are is what you have been,
what you will be is what you do now.”
Tibetan Buddhist teaching from The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, by Sogyal Rinpoche
Get involved. Your health is your most important possession. Proper spinal care is new for most people. The better you understand your condition, the faster your recovery.
Some other guidelines may help you enhance your healing process:
Eat simple, fresh food – predominantly vegetables and fruit, minimizing preservatives and manufactured foods.
Rest, give your body a chance to repair and rejuvenate.
Breathe deeply and fully “into” your lower abdomen, especially when stressed.
Develop a caring nature towards yourself and others.
Minimise alcohol and recreational drug usage.
Exercise: A major key to enjoying exercise, is to choose a form of exercise or sport that is suited to your body type and fitness level.
Ultimately we are all responsible for our own health. It is up to us to do everything we can to give our body the best chance of healing itself and releasing the potential within.
